On the afternoon of December 29,2024, YongXing Steel Company successfully held the fourth quarter safety management data analysis meeting. The meeting brought together more than 20 workshops supervisors, interpreters and heads of procurement, personnel and administration departments, presided over by Chen Jilin, manager of the Safety Department.

At the beginning of the conference, all the participants watched the safety education video "Cao Xianlong: Safety Management of the World's Safest Company". In the video, Cao Xianlong, a safety lecturer, combined with his personal work experience to deeply analyzed the ten safety management concepts of DuPont Company, and emphasized that all safety accidents can be prevented through actual cases. The key of prevention is to establish and improve safety management system, clarify management responsibility and strengthen procedure control; At the same time, to ensure that all staff get proper safety training, supervisors at all levels, carry out inspections on the site to make sure hidden dangers get rectified timely and thoroughly. Every employee is a main part of safe production, and carries the responsibility of it.

Subsequently, the safety interpreter, Wen Zhenghua , explained in details the achievements and deficiencies of the safety management work in this quarter. He first affirmed the efforts and contributions of both Chinese and Nigerian employees in safety management, but at the same time, he also pointed out that the safety production situation is still challenging , so we must always be vigilant, prevent even the slightest violations, and be alert to dangers when we feel its safe.

In this quarter, the number of various safety training reached a new height in the whole year, which cannot be separated from the careful organization of the Safety Department and the active cooperation of the production department and all other departments. Through the training, the safety awareness of the onsite staff was generally improved, and the phenomenon of violations of discipline decreased significantly compared with the previous quarter. However, there are still violations such as not wearing safety helmet belts, non-standard safety belt wearing, and non-stop the machine before processing, as well as bad phenomena such as sleeping on duty and playing mobile phones during working hours. This shows that the safety awareness of the onsite employees still needs to be further strengthened.

According to the analysis of the causes of the safety accidents in this quarter, it is found that the accidents caused by the wrong operation of the old employees account for a relatively large proportion. Because the old staff are familiar with the equipment and procedures, it is easy to form habitual wrong operation . Therefore, in 2025, the company will focus on strengthening the training, management and supervision of the senior employees, in order to improve their safety awareness, standardize the operation process, and ensure that they really play a leading role in the safety model.

In view of the problems and deficiencies in the safety management work, the department of Safety put forward the following suggestions: first, to implement the safety production responsibility to the onsite team leaders to strengthen the site safety management; second, to continue to strengthen safety training to improve the safety quality of the safety officers; third, to strengthen the communication with the production department to promote the full implementation of safety production.

After watching the video and PPT demonstration, the participants spoke actively and put forward questions and suggestions according to their own position. Personnel manager Zhang Xiaojian stresses the importance of full participation in safety management; Miao Sen, manager of Procurement department, suggests creating safety atmosphere to retain old employees to ensure safe production; deputy production manager Niu mentioned that we need to consider safety awareness and team spirit when recruiting, and supervisors at all levels should conduct the safety inspection; Yu Rongfeng stresses the importance of cross-inspection, the control of hidden dangers and the importance of procedure management.

In the end, safety manager Chen Jilin responded to the questions raised at the meeting.
